Oakwood City is committed to the continuing development of managers and leaders, from supervisory to board level.  We have created management development programmes for clients around the world.

We will partner you in creating extended programmes for the development of your managers. Whether working to your own defined management competencies or to a framework that we devise with you, we will:

  • Agree objectives, evaluation criteria and timescales
  • Develop the programme
  • Deliver the programme; a blend of training, guided learning, case-studies, practical assignments and personal coaching, as appropriate
  • Evaluate the programme (periodical and summative evaluation) and agree further steps

Some examples of programmes we have recently developed:

  • A two-day Management Essentials course, initially for new managers in a rating agency.  The programme has been adapted for sales managers in a sister company.  A further adapted version is now running in the parent company.
  • One day selection interviewing training courses for all levels of managers in a Russian investment bank.
  • A five day residential programme, incorporating action learning, for senior middle managers in an international investment bank.  The course was built around corporate values and new leadership competencies developed by the firm.
  • A “Global Operations Leadership Development” (GOLD) programme for senior operations managers a South African bank.  The programme, spanning six months, combined personal skills and management development training with the facilitation of strategy development for Operations.
  • One day “Coaching for Managers” workshops for an Australian bank.
  • Half and one day interactive training modules on topics including: Performance Management and Appraisal, Motivation at Work, Delegation, Managing Poor Performers, Dealing with Conflict, Coaching, Team Building and Team Briefing for a London-based Fund Management Firm.
